| Note by Alberich: In case any young solvers are still baffled by the theme, perhaps I should explain that Watch with Mother was a children's TV series which ran from 1950 until 1980. The earliest programmes are celebrated in this puzzle. These programmes had a definite charm and were educational as well as entertaining; sadly a far cry from the noisy, inane drivel foisted upon the unfortunate children of today.
